Gold Coast Airport

The Gold Coast or Coolangatta Airport is a domestic and international airport on the northern gateway to Summerland NSW and is located some 100 km (62 mi) south of Brisbane and 90 km north of Byron Bay.

The runway itself straddles 5 suburbs of twin cities across the state border of Queensland and New South Wales. During summer these states are in two different time zones.

The Gold Coast Airport is currently the sixth busiest international airport in Australia and the 3rd fastest growing airport in the country.

Tiger to start Sydney flights

TIGER Airways Australia's announcement that it will set-up a base in Sydney in early July will be a boon to Summerland residents and the tourism industry.

Up to four return services (eight flights) daily between Sydney and Gold Coast commencing on July 1, 2012 will soon go on sale soon for the bargain basement price of just $59.95.
